ASUS VH242H 23.6-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor – Black Review

I decided to buy this monitor on the large number of positive reviews (Amazon seems to have a slightly lower average rating, other sites with the highest scores were average, but Amazon had the best price, as always). The packaging was great, the dialog actual retail survey was surrounded in a huge field, so I was not worried about the damage. Set a time, is connected to my laptop via DVI and I found a quick check in case of error pixel and could not have one. (A quick searchGoogle will lead to several free programs to help you, dead pixels, and help fix stuck pixels, so you can try first with a smooth return of some process).

The monitor is great, the brightness is amazing, and the contrast is very good. A little 'blood is shown below in dark images, but certainly no big deal, not bad enough to distract from something that I'm watching, and it's something I'm willing to tolerate this priceLevel.

The speakers are very weak, as expected, but Asus has all the ports that must be provided. I have this monitor to my desktop and my PS3 is connected. My desktop is connected to an external speaker system and I wanted to hook my PS3 up to the same system without a lot of costly setup. If you are looking for something similar, here's how I did:

My desktop is connected to the monitor via DVI and HDMI is my PS3, which carries the audio addictionSignal from the PS3 to the monitor. I then a male-male 3.5mm audio cable for headphones on VH242H (the output is connected to black, the green one is for audio input to help you on your desktop monitor connected to occur if you are referring to mainly to the monitor speakers) to the microphone port on my desktop. I bought this monitor on the basis of ratings that I read here. But I now regret it as soon as the start menu, change the brightness and contrast. After playing with the buttons, I, the brightness, but there is no way to get to the menu to the contrary. Dell's menu is much easier. I will never again Asus monitor. It 's too bright for my eyes. Too bad. I can not go back.

Interferes with MacBook, iPhone wireless reception – K. Burke –
Love the size and the price is right, but when I click on my external monitor wireless coverage on my MacBook drops four times that of the wireless network almost unusable. I have an Ethernet cable in my dorm, God is you, but if I had I would not be able to use my monitor, because the quality of access is so bad.

you might have in other reviews on the "screen flickering gray of death" too. This is exactly what has happened to me so unexpectedly last week. The monitor is never moved from my desk without ever dropping, etc, it just happened accidentally while using the computer. If I hit the monitor on the back of his hand, he would go, and again inanother hour. Then he became more frequent, and a week later, I could not handle the screen to work correctly, no matter what I wanted.

In general, I can not recommend this monitor to anyone. Do not buy this monitor.

I have the monitor for 1 month now and I have very reliable. It 'was moved and used on multiple systems (PC, Mac Mini, PS3 and Amiga 3000) without a problem. The picture quality is excellent and the built-in audio is very good. Several people have about the sound quality of the earpiece, but it sounds bad to me complain. The price is right on the monitor and that was it. The image quality is blurry and terrible in native resolution. There's a lot of flickering in the window borders and certain types of textures. I have an old Samsung 170T side by side with this ad, which is much better, and is 5 years. It has none of these problems on the images themselves (which runs in dual-display).

Games look horrible. Windows desktop looks terrible. Alllooks horrible on this monitor. In fact, it hurts the eyes to look. And 'one of the worst LCD I've ever seen.

So I ordered a replacement, because I thought maybe it was simply defective. Amazon to send replacement was completely broken. It is not rekindled. Amazon did not pack well enough and I would say the monitor was bouncing, while inside the left. Not sure if he broke the street, if Asus or Amazon to send a broken product. IThe suspicion of the latter.

Now I have two screens, one of which is completely broken, the quality subparagraph else, and I do not want any of them.

Terrible product. Stay away from this monitor, and in my opinion, far from Asus products remain in good standing, if this product is no indication of their quality.
